Pork Ala King
When I was a child Mom would sometimes make us chicken ala king. With a swanky name like that how could you go wrong? It always tasted great too.
Recently I found myself with some roast pork leftovers. I remembered the chicken ala king of my past and wondered, “Is there such a thing as pork ala king?” If there wasn’t before there is now!
Pork Ala King

- 1/3 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 3/4 cups milk
- 4 ounce can mushrooms, drained
- 2 cups cooked pork (chicken or turkey work great too)
Directions
In a large frying pan melt butter over low heat. Blend in flour, salt and pepper. Keep cooking and stirring until the mixture is smooth and bubbly. Remove from heat. Stir in broth and milk. Heat to boiling, stirring the whole time. Boil for one minute. Add mushrooms and chicken. Cook for a few more minutes to warm the chicken and mushrooms. Serve mixture over toast.
