One of the reasons I love living in the Seattle area is the can-do attitude. Take Paul Allen for instance. Not satisfied with being one of the richest people on the planet he’s spending his money trying to make contact with other planets.
Allen is paying for some new equipment at SETI – The Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence. In addition to listening for signals from ET the Allen Telescope Array will help scientist study pulsars, black holes, dark matter and gravity waves.
What if the project does detect an alien signal? “If this project picks up a signal, they would call me right away,” Allen stated. “I would be astonished … then I’d be trying feverishly to help decode the message.”
