The Heat and Tuna Burgers
The heat wave continues. Today or tomorrow temperatures are likely to reach the triple digits. The highest recoded temperature for this area is 100 degrees. We’re may go over that. The Man of the House and I are trying to decide what we should do mark the event. Buy ice cream? Run through the lawn sprinkler? Cook an egg in the driveway? We’re still thinking about it.
In the meantime, while I was on vacation one of my Idaho Hostesses asked me if I had a recipe for tuna burgers. I do indeed and I was surprised to discover I hadn’t posted it yet.
Tuna burgers are delicious comfort food. Give them a try and see if you don’t agree.
11/11/2015 Update – I’ve had several people think that the tuna mixture would actually hold together like a burger. Nope. It’s kind of a glorified, warm, tummy-satisfying tuna sandwich.
Tuna Burgers
1 – 7 oz can of tuna, drained
¼ Cup minced onion
¼ Cup mayonnaise
½ Cup grated cheddar cheese
1 Cup celery – chopped
salt and pepper to taste
6 hamburger buns
Combine all ingredients except buns to make filling. Put filling in hamburger buns and wrap in foil. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
